Pakistan has not yet reached the level of default, according to the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, and it is hoped that it will not reach that level. She stated that Pakistan needs a sustainable policy framework to avoid the risk of default and it is hoped that Pakistan will complete its ongoing program with the financial assistance of the IMF. Additionally, IMF's MD, MD, has said that Pakistan is at the forefront of the risks posed by climate change.
