The first time this happened to me, I was young. It was early in the morning and still a little late to school when I woke up and I tried to take a side trun but my body wouldn't support me.I couldn't move.It felt like my whole body was paralyzed. Although my mind was fully active, the muscles in my body were still asleep. My room felt warm and felt like the walls were getting tighter.I was very nervous but after 15 seconds I recovered. Later this condition was known to be called 'Sleep Paralysis'.This is a surprisingly common condition that occurs at night when the mind wakes up but the body is temporarily paralyzed. This has happened to me several times since the first incident and each time I am terrified.Decreased but this condition can leave more impact for some people. Some people even have nightmares.

I had conversations to my student,Sana, who told me that this happened to her at the age of 15.She woke up but couldn't move. She could see a strange figure hiding behind the curtain, and the worst part was that she couldn't even walk.It feels very real. Some people see ghosts and even dead people. Some do see their own body parts suspended in the air, while others see a copy of themselves standing next to the bed. Some people see angels and later feel that they have a spiritual experience.

Experts believe that this delusion fueled the notion of witches and wizards in Europe and may have led to cases in which a few people claimed to have been abducted by extraterrestrials.Experts believe that this situation is very old. Many writers in literary history have referred to such a situation.

Jalal is one of the few scientists who are spending time and energy to research this condition. They want to shed light on the causes and effects of this condition in order to unlock the mysteries of the human mind.Until now, there was not much information and little research done about people who go through this condition. In 2011, Brian Sharpless, did the most comprehensive research. At the time, he was working at the University of Pennsylvania. He reviewed 35 studies over five decades and then with the help of about 36,000 volunteers, found that this condition is quite common and about eight percent of people have gone through it.In this, a large number ie 32 percent of psychiatric patients while 28 percent are university students."It's not very rare," says Sharpless. Jalal says, "The reasons are not too complicated."At night, our body goes through four stages of sleep, in which the final stage is the rapid eye moment, and in this stage we dream.Do nothing and do not harm yourself, but sometimes the brain wakes up before the phase is complete, causing the person to think he is awake, but the lower part of the brain is still passing him through the phase. And the muscles are sending the neurotransmitters of hearing.Jalal says that the sensory part of the brain is activated and you are mentally awake but actually you are paralyzed. Most people who go through such a condition do not go to the doctor.

It certainly becomes a topic of conversation. But for an unfortunate minority, this situation proves difficult.Sharpless' research found that 15 to 44 percent of people who experienced this condition were clinically disturbed.Such people spend the whole day wondering when the next time will happen.Espy says that 'an anxiety arises and the person can not get out of it, the worst effect of which can be in the form of a panic attack (anxiety). In some people, such a condition can also indicate 'Necrolepsy'.It is a condition in which the brain is not able to control the sleep process and the affected people can fall asleep at any time.Medical experts say that this condition is common when there is a lack of sleep, but the treatment of this condition is difficult. The most common and useful solution is awareness in which the affected people are told about the scientific reasons for it so that they know that they are not at any risk.In more serious cases, medications can be used to treat the person's anxiety.
